Summary: This person is responsible to train and support participants with developmental disabilities in a variety of work settings. This is considered an entry level position with the potential for transitioning into full time case management work for the right candidate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform job search services and assist clients in resume development, job application completion and prep interviewing skills.
  • Provides person-centered training and support to individuals placed in community jobs.
  • Performs task analysis at employment sites and develops job/work procedures for each participant.
  • Provides information on a regular basis to the Manager, case managers, employers, family members, and outside referral sources.
  • Maintains professional relationships with the business community and establishes natural supports at each individual job site.
  • Provides written documentation of participantís progress by way of case notes and performance evaluations.
  • Promptly return email and phone correspondence to participants, employers, and family members as needed.
  • Data entry of participant information and program documents including creating and maintaining files.
  • Learn other Case Management skills as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 1 year experience working with people with disabilities. Graduation from a vocational/technical school highly preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess or be able to acquire First-Aid and CPR certification.

Other Qualifications: Must be able to maintain courteous attitude and effectively communicate over the telephone, in person and via email. Must be able to maintain professional appearance and professional attitude when engaging and interacting with various populations served by the agency.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Transportation: Must have valid WA state driverís license, insurance, and acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation required.
