The Ticket to Work Program Intern will perform a broad range of clerical tasks requiring knowledge and understanding of the program. The Ticket volunteer will need to pass a federal suitability clearance (E-Qip) in order to volunteer in the program. This is an unpaid internship with the potential to transition to paid employment.

Length of internship is based on need, performance, and available funding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prior to Suitability Process for the Ticket to Work Program

  • Update necessary forms

  • Prepare pre-enrollment files

  • Copying, non PII (Personal Identifiable Information), related filing

  • Job search assistance

  • Access general Ticket website program overview (pre-training)

  • Make copies of recruitment materials for distribution at partner sites

  • Prepare materials for partner and participant meetings

  • Create and update flyers and other participant resources

  • Assemble packets for distribution via postal mail

  • Other duties relevant to program success may be assigned

Post Suitability Process for the Ticket to Work Program

  • Assist Ticket to Work Program Administrator and Ticket to Work Case Manager with organizing participant case files

  • Make follow up calls to participants to remind them of upcoming meetings and events

  • Other duties relevant to program success may be assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: none

Education and/or Experience:

  • Ability to pass suitability clearance and attend trainings
  • High School/GED required, AA preferred
  • Computer and Microsoft Office Suite certificate preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities

Language Skills: English fluency required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence, speak effectively with Goodwill visitors, customers, and employees of organization. Communicate well over the telephone and in person with employers, referral sources and participants.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the volunteer  is regularly required to talk or hear. The volunteer is frequently required to sit. The volunteer is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The volunteer is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close range, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Must be capable of physically performing tasks required of participant in order to model and demonstrate desired behaviors.

Technical Skills: Computer skills, data entry, organization and filing, and social service or educational setting experience.
